About Me

Chandre de Jager is a published author in the Labor Law field and formerly from the Eastern Cape, South Africa. She has lived in Europe and Asia where she was a day trader in Forex as well as full time mom to two beautiful daughters.

Her mom taught yoga in the 1970’s from home and this was Chandre’s introduction to yoga. After more than a decade abroad, Chandre returned to South Africa with the goal of letting both daughters finish school in Cape Town before she set off on another adventure.

Adrienne, Chandre’s youngest daughter, matriculated at the end of 2016 and a few months later Chandre opened The Yoga Lounge, sharing her passion for yoga with the wonderful people in the South Peninsula of Cape Town.

Chandre is a qualified yoga teacher and continues to update her yoga education through online teachings and courses.

If you like a strong, sweaty class, then join Chandre’s Vinyasa Flow classes; for a deep stretch, her Yin Classes are for you; and if you want to start a yoga meditation class, Yoga Nidra would be a perfect class for you.

Vinyasa Flows

  • We focus on our breath as we warm up and then flow through sequences targeted at improving balance, strength, flexibility and cardio. Our cool down and Savasana will calm your mind and relax your nervous system.

Gentle Yoga

  • It is perfect for beginners, those of you recovering from an injury or those who just want to take it easy on their mats. We practice slowly and mindfully, focusing on the poses and their affects on our bodies.

Bootcamp Yoga

  • We target upper body, lower body and core. A weekly full body blast using interval training, supersets and tabatas makes you strong and lean. You are guaranteed to get strong and lean.

Yin Yoga

  • It is time to breathe deeply, clear your mind and relax your body. Props are used in order to minimize muscular action and promote the effect of gravity stretching the body as it surrenders and releases.

How online classes work

Yoga when you need it most. I am offering live yoga classes daily, delivered virtually through zoom.

Our classes during this time focus on quieting the mind, building immunity, creating connection, and soothing our stress. You will move your body and uplift your emotions.


What is LIVE-ONLINE?

Live-online classes are offered in real time with a live teacher and other students connecting virtually through video conferencing software. We are using zoom.us which is free to download and can be accessed through a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

How do I use zoom?

Before class, go to zoom.us and download and install the app on your device. For the best experience you will want to join from a device that has a video camera and microphone. This way, we can see and hear you.

You will be automatically muted during the session. This is to help with sound quality. There is also a chat function in zoom where you can raise your hand with questions or issues.

If you would like me to see you and your practice, then keep your video camera on. If you would like to practice privately then you can turn your video camera off. You can also scroll through and see everyone else who is in the class with you by going to gallery view.
